THE COMMANDER SPEAKS

We hear a lot through the press from General Sanchez, which makes sense, he's the on-scene guy, but we should hear more often from the Commander of Central Command, General Abizaid. He's smart, he's articulate, he's a fluent Arabic speaker, and he's been off the press's radar screen for too long.

So it's good to see this piece in the Washington Post today which essentially just gives the General a platform to speak to the relative importance, as he sees it, of military/strategic/tactical issues, and perception/determination/will, all the kinds of intangible, difficult to pin down but very, very real issues that are so central in this war.
