The Beat Goes On

Note that at the Washington Post, unlike the networks, the hurricanes haven't wiped Iraq away: not only is it still covered but it makes page one, and with a (relatively) upbeat report about progress of Iraqi forces. US commanders in the field here are smart to provide assessments that are never completely positive. That kind of talk lacks credibility. (Side note: H.R. McMaster, PhD in Military History, UNC Chapel Hill. I'm just sayin'. That PhD turned into the book described in this post -- vis Instapundit -- that explains why his positive assessments are worth even more.)
