I'm Shocked, Shocked

Kofi's man in Khartoum says that the Sudanese are ignoring their resposibilities under UN agreements and that the violence in Darfur is actually getting worse, as intentional attacks against civilians accelerate. It's almost as if they didn't respect the International Criminal Court.

Well, no wonder the poor man is at a loss. I'm sure Kofi is too. After all, the UN Security Council has dealt with the Sudanese, dealt with this problem, has it not? It has made clear that any more trouble-making and the trouble makers will find themselves facing charges in front of the ICC. What more needed to be done?

Apparently something.

By the way, notice that it's the UN envoy "for the prevention of genocide." That's a bit rich in and of itself, seeing as the UN has also determined that there's no genocide taking place in Darfur.
