That's Not Good
Continuing (and intensifying) reports of, well, nothing good going on in Basra. Note, however, that while the Post is to be applauded for following this story, since while Basra is an extremely important city it can tend to fall off the radar of the American press since it's under American control, the dateline is still Baghdad.
No reporter can be faulted for not going there in person, not after what happened to Steven Vincent. But reporters always use language that carefully elides your attention from the fact that they haven't been on the scene.
Why not do the opposite for the sake of greater transparency?
Additionally, the piece, for round-up purposes, notes that in Tall Afar three bombs went off.
But other news about Tall Afar has gotten less attention, lately.
