Go Soft
Here's a quick little piece that describes some "soft" (ie, non-quantitative) approaches to counterinsurgency drawn from a book on the same topic written by the same authors. I would say that I've read the first several chapters, and found it absolutely fascinating -- but then I use "soft" methods myself, so of course I'm always primed to buy the argument that those approaches have been shorted and need to be given more attention.
